EFFECT OF MODELING TEACHING METHOD ON CRITICAL THINKING SKILL OF STUDENTS IN THE SUBJECT ISLAMIYAT AT SECONDARY SCHOOL LEVEL

Abstract

The prime objective of 21st century skills is to develop critical thinking skills among students for the development of 
a sound society. The objective of this experimental but quantitative study was to explore the effect of modeling on 
the critical thinking skills of students in the subject of Islamiyat at the secondary school level. An equivalent 
material design with a single group was used for this study. Modeling technique was used as a teaching method. 
The content-based test was administered to measure critical thinking skills before and after the experiment. The 
content-based test was the tool to collect the data. The findings indicate that employing modeling as a teaching 
method for the enumeration rule developed students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Islamiyat. Based on the 
results of research and data analysis, researchers concluded that modeling as a teaching method has the scope to 
empower the critical thinking skills of students
